The Egyptian state's main wheat buying agency said on Monday it wanted to buy cargoes of 55,000 to 60,000 tonnes of soft and/or milling wheat and hard wheat for shipment March 1 to 10.

Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities said it sought offers for cargoes of 60,000 tonnes of soft and/or milling wheat from the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Britain, Australia and Argentina.

GASC sought offers for cargoes of 55,000 tonnes of U.S. soft white wheat. The agency also sought cargoes of 55,000 tonnes of U.S. hard red winter wheat, along with cargoes of 60,000 tonnes of hard wheat from the United States, Canada and Australia for March 1-10 shipment.

GASC Vice Chairman Nomani Nomani said tenders should reach the agency by noon local time (1000 GMT) on Tuesday. Results should be published around 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. the same day.

Nomani said wheat bids should be free-on-board, with a separate freight offer. Results will also be published on GASC's website (www.gasc.gov.eg).
